Adopt An Adult Beagle

When we know of adult beagles available for adoption in our area, I will post them here. :-)

"Franky" has been Adopted!

• One year old neutered boy

• Located near the Quad Cities, eastern Iowa.

• From Franky's owner:
  "Franky just turned 1 this past weekend (10/2). He is housetrained and knows how to go to the door when he needs to go outside. He likes to bark/bay and will need some work with his baying. Personally I think he just does it to get attention so with the proper attention he is a wonderful dog in that aspect. When I take him for walks I put a harness on him and he's very controlled. He likes to follow the trail of a squirrel or rabbit when he catches the scent, like any normal beagle would. He needs a lot of attention. He's wonderful around people. When I'm away I put him in a kennel in which he also sleeps. He goes right in his kennel with a treat when he knows it's time. He hates to have his nails clipped. He is current on all shots. He still chews, but as long as he has a toy or rawhide around he won't chew on furniture or other belongings. He currently weights about 23 lbs.

"Harley" has been Adopted!

• 3 year old neutered boy

• ~13-14" tall tri-color

• House trained

• Harley's owners had to move all the way from the east coast to the west coast, and couldn't have him in their new home.

• Loves to play fetch and to snuggle!

• Harley has been a very quiet beagle, rarely ever barking. We have had him here for about 2 or 3 weeks, and have only heard him bark one time! He is beautiful and has a wonderful disposition. He gets along well alone and also with other dogs. He did not bother our cats at all. He's just a sweetheart!

• Harley is not a food hog or food aggressive, but he will be overweight if food is left out all the time.
